Burn bans on the rise in Arkansas | What to know
SUMMARY: Fire danger is increasing across 15 counties due to dry conditions, with more than 70% of Arkansas experiencing severe drought. Although Plaski County currently lacks a burn ban, fire officials warn that conditions could change without rain. North Little Rock Fire Captain Gary Williams advises residents to maintain safety plans while outdoors, even during casual activities like grilling. Residents are urged to respect burn bans and stay vigilant to prevent wildfires during this typically dry period of September to November.
With no rain coming anytime soon, the level of fire danger in Arkansas continues to rise. Here’s what officials say you should do to remain safe.

Race for White House heats up as Election Day draws closer
SUMMARY: Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are campaigning in the Midwest, focusing on “blue wall” states like Michigan and Wisconsin. During a rally, Harris condemned Trump’s violent rhetoric toward former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, claiming it disqualifies him from the presidency. Trump, in turn, criticized Cheney and expressed disdain for her actions. The campaigns emphasize voter mobilization, coinciding with record early voting in states like Georgia, where over half of eligible voters have participated. Amidst this, misinformation is a concern, with Georgia’s Secretary of State refuting a viral video related to voting fraud, linked to a Russian disinformation campaign.
Now that Election Day is under one week away, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are both focusing on “blue wall” states as the race for the White House heats up.
