SUMMARY:

Tanner Frick, a 26-year-old from Brandon, Mississippi, wowed judges during his blind audition for season 26 of The Voice, singing Morgan Wallen’s "Thought You Should Know." All four judges—Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Michael Bublé—turned their chairs, with McEntire ultimately securing Frick for her team. She praised his "sexy" country voice and compared him to Chris Stapleton. Frick, who juggles a maintenance job and music gigs, chose the song as an inspiration from Wallen’s journey, hoping to rise from physical labor to pursue his passion. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.

Mississippi State serves as the southern hub, focusing on resistance in grasses typical to southern soybean systems. The project investigates resistance to both pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides, expanding beyond past research. Participating universities include Kansas State, Penn State, and Texas A&M. Herbicide-resistant weeds cost U.S. soybean producers over $2 billion annually, underscoring the initiative’s importance.
