Alleged assault on officer while on bond

SUMMARY: William Earnest Westmoreland, a man from , Mississippi, who was already out on bond for assault on a officer, was accused of assaulting two during a traffic stop. When the officers tried to him from the vehicle, he resisted and attempted to grab one of their weapons. The officers tased him but with little effect. Bystanders helped the officers handcuff Westmoreland, but one officer was in the incident and will require further treatment for a back injury.
