ACT test scores hit new 30 year low
SUMMARY: New data reveals that ACT test scores are at their lowest in years. The decline in scores is attributed to the impact of the pandemic on education. School closures and learning loss have contributed to the decrease in scores. Educators believe that preparation is key to improving scores, but stress and anxiety may also impact performance. Mississippi is one of six states that have made the ACT mandatory, but it has produced the second lowest average composite score for students in the U.S. The average ACT composite score for U.S. students was 19.5 out of 36.
New data is showing a low for ACT test scores not seen for years.
