Seven rescued by law enforcement after being stuck on sandbar in Monroe County

A deputy went home to Amory, retrieved his boat, and, along with a state wildlife officer, rescued the stranded group. The sheriff noted that the water rose rapidly due to a storm miles upstream, creating a deceptive and dangerous situation for the swimmers.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says seven people were rescued after being trapped on a sandbar.
