Water Valley students learn about dangers of impaired driving
SUMMARY: The Water Valley School District is helping law and Public Safety students understand the dangers of alcohol by having them wear fatal vision drunk goggles during the pom season. This allows students to experience being under the influence and the resulting dangers. They compete in tasks like walking in a straight line and catching a ball to demonstrate the effects of alcohol on coordination. A state Trooper visited the students the next day to discuss the consequences of distracted driving and not wearing seatbelts. This initiative aims to educate students about the risks of alcohol and distracted driving.
