Extra Table launches new ready-to-serve meal for food insecure Mississippians

SUMMARY: Extra Table, a statewide food bank in Mississippi, has introduced a new meal solution called “Extra Full” to combat hunger. Launched in , this product is a pot meal with four servings, ready in under 30 minutes, requiring only boiling . The initial offering is red beans and rice made with rice from Two Brooks Farm in the Mississippi Delta, fortified with a vitamin mix, high fiber and protein, low sodium, and containing 22 vitamins and minerals. Extra Full meals will be packed by volunteers and distributed to food pantries at no cost, alongside other food provided by Extra Table to its 62 partner . The initiative was created in partnership with several entities, universities and corporate sponsors.
