Harper McCaughan Beta Club Students Attend State Convention, Take Part in Competitions and Qualify for Nationals
SUMMARY: National Beta members from Harper McCaughan Elementary participated in the Mississippi Beta State Convention and achieved success in various competitions. They qualified for the National Convention in 2024 and their Beta Club Sponsor praised their achievements. National Beta is the nation's largest independent educational youth organization, promoting these ideals among elementary and secondary school students. USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies
SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
