SUMMARY: A group of Alabama lawmakers are proposing a gambling bill to authorize a lottery and 10 . want to get the question before voters in November, as Alabama is one of the few states without a state lottery. Lawmakers previously rejected a similar proposal in 1999 and have been resistant to adding casinos with table and slot machines. The bill is estimated to generate over $800 million in annual revenue for the state.
