Mississippi judge drops punishment of probation and book report for a child who urinated in public
SUMMARY: A 10-year-old Black child in Senatobia, Mississippi, who was initially required to serve probation and write a book report about Kobe Bryant after urinating near his mother's car, will no longer have to do so. Judge Rusty Harlow dismissed a Youth Court petition seeking to designate the child as one in need of supervision, after his mother refused the terms of probation. The child's arrest at the time led to controversy and the release of police officers involved in the incident, with the child's mother saying they violated their training on how to deal with children.
