Jackson man charged in fatal Fayette shooting identified
SUMMARY: 20-year-old Gary DeWayne Wilson, Jr. of Jackson, along with two 17-year-olds from Natchez, have been charged in connection to a deadly drive-by shooting that occurred on Highway 61 on January 18th. The victim, 19-year-old Robert Campbell, Jr., of Natchez, called 911 and stated that he had been shot. When authorities arrived, they found a silver Chevrolet pickup with multiple bullet holes in the driver's side door, and Campbell was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The suspects are facing charges of murder drive-by shooting, conspiracy to commit murder, and shooting into an occupied vehicle, and the incident is currently under investigation by several law enforcement agencies.
