Henifin cites high water demand amid Jackson line breaks
SUMMARY: JXN Water's interim third-party manager, Ted Henifin, spoke with 12 News' Cameron Smith about the challenges during the recent deep freeze. Despite the difficult week, Henifin noted that the water plants produced a peak of 84 million gallons during the crisis. However, misinformation on social media led to customers filling up bathtubs and jugs at home, resulting in a demand for water well above average. This caused low water pressure for most customers, with demand peaking at about 12 million gallons a day. Despite the challenges, Henifin praised the hard work of the water plants and their ability to produce water during the extreme weather.
