Trey Tonnessen wants to fly
SUMMARY: Students at Moss Point High School are excited about the new Aviation Academy launched in partnership with the Jackson County Airport Authority and Aspire Aviation. The program, the first of its kind in Mississippi, offers training in air traffic control, pilot skills, and maintenance. Students will begin flying with instructors next week and may start solo flights in a month. The school hopes the program will inspire other districts to offer similar opportunities. Two students, James Spain II and Liony Tickal, are the first to enroll in the program and are eager to receive their Private Pilot certificate. Biloxi City Councilman Announces Resignation
SUMMARY: City councilman Robert Deming announced his resignation from the council due to a guilty plea in federal court for conspiracy to distribute Controlled Substances. He had pleaded guilty to selling synthetic cannabinoid Vape products at his CBD stores. Deming's resignation leaves a vacant seat in the council, which will be addressed at the next buuy city council meeting. A special election will be held within 45 days to fill the seat.
