Bond denied for 2 people involved in deadly West Point shootings
SUMMARY: Two individuals involved in shootings in West Point, Mississippi were denied bond. Lamarquez Deshawn Evans was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, while 19-year-old Renaldo Carrothers faced a charge of accessories after the fact. These shootings took place on West Half Mile and Division Street, resulting in two deaths and several injuries. Kaelon Collins was also arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder. The investigation is being slowed by multiple crime scenes and uncooperative witnesses, but Police Chief Avery Cook is committed to prosecuting all those involved.
