USPS Facility in Gulfport Selected for Potential Network Investment /Modernization Efforts

SUMMARY: The United States Postal Service (USPS) is planning to modernize and upgrade its Gulfport Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) as part of a $40 billion investment strategy. This is in line with the USPS ten-year Delivering for America (DFA) plan to improve organizational and operational processes. The review will evaluate whether some mail processing operations can be transferred to the Jackson MS P&DC, as well as whether efficiency and service can be improved. The goal is to revitalize and modernize the facility with improved employee amenities and a better working environment. Public input will be considered, and the Postal Service will work closely with its unions and management associations throughout the process.

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
