SUMMARY: The weather in Chicago will start as chilly but will turn into a snowy and rainy afternoon and night. Tomorrow morning, the worst of the storm is expected, bringing potentially heavy snowfall. The last significant snowstorm was in 2021, and more is expected now. The wide-open lake may bring cold air behind the storm. The impact will reach from Texas to Michigan, with potential flooding, damaging winds, and severe weather. Many states have advisories for this storm, and another one is expected to follow, possibly bringing a blizzard by Friday. This is a turbulent start to 2024 in Chicago.

M-DOT is preparing for overnight roadwork, starting at 7:00 PM tonight and continuing through 6:00 AM until Thursday.
