“Have a ball” giveaway at Highland Park
SUMMARY: The varsity team won a 50-24 game, outscoring Laurel Christian by 65 points. There was a drive-thru style ball giveaway at Highland Park in Meridian, where kids were given the choice of a free sports ball, including footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, and dodgeballs. The kids also had the opportunity to take pictures and play with the balls. The event aimed to encourage kids to be active and have fun. The giveaways were made possible through donations and the help of volunteers.
The City of Meridian Parks and Recreation was able to supply about 100 children with free, brand-new sports balls just in time for winter break.
