Tennessee Valley Authority awarded $1.5 million in grants to public schools

SUMMARY: The Tennessee Valley Authority has awarded $1.5 million in to in the South, Mississippi, to invest in STEM education projects. The competitive STEM classroom grant program, operated in partnership with the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network, received 715 grant applications this year and selected over 300 schools across several Southern states. The grants, up to $5,000 each, were awarded based on TVA's focus of energy, economic , and community problem solving. The program aims to STEM education and advancement in public schools in the Tennessee Valley region.
