Marion County school district enacts anti-vaping rules
SUMMARY: Yesterday, a new policy went into effect in the Marion County School District in an effort to combat the increasing rates of youth vaping. The policy includes strict regulations against vaping on school property and a 7-step program to help students break their addiction to vaping. The program aims to educate students about the dangers of vaping and provide resources for those who need help. Students at the school district agree that the program is a good thing and that vaping has become a distracting issue in their classrooms. The policy is in partnership with the Tobacco Free Coalition and has received support from students and agencies alike.
