Volunteers prepare to honor first responders on 9/11

SUMMARY: Maggie's mother, father, and siblings received signed copies of a proclamation. These copies will be sent to fire stations throughout Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson counties, as a way to thank the first responders in those areas. Volunteers from Women of Wisdom and other local organizations, as well as students from local schools and the Boys and Girls Club, are helping pack 2,000 goody bags filled with handmade thank you cards. These goody bags will also be served during a lunch event next Monday, where nearly 801st responders and 76 fire stations across the coast will be recognized for their important work and support. Overall, it is essential to give back and recognize the efforts of first responders, as they may not always feel appreciated for their work in protecting and supporting the community.

Tuesday afternoon, Women of Wisdom and other volunteers packed up 2,000 goody bags to be sent to fire stations throughout South Mississippi counties on 9/11.
