SUMMARY: Shiva is a three-year-old golden lab mix who has been at the shelter since February or March. She was found with her puppies under a school and was rescued by a small volunteer. After finding homes for her puppies, she was left behind at the shelter. Shiva is potty trained, good with other animals and children, and would make an ideal pet. It's important to ensure that any existing dogs at home get along with her. Shiva has lived in a house for the past three months and her adoption fee is waived as someone has sponsored her.

Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes is addressing confusion about new parking meters downtown, activated on May 1st. Stokes received numerous complaints about parking tickets despite correct meter use. He proposes a 90-day grace period to educate people on using the meters properly. Stokes stated, “Instead of giving citizens tickets they do not deserve, we need a 90-day grace period to educate them on meter usage.”

Long-time Jackson Church moving to Ridgeland
