Tupelo officers fitted Wednesday for new bullet proof vests

SUMMARY: The Department received new bulletproof vests through a donation raised from the Peacemakers 5K . The event, organized by the Wives of Warriors, aims to ensure the safety of local police . Since 2013, the organization has been working to necessary equipment for officers after the of Officer Gail Stauffer. The president of Wives of Warriors emphasized the importance of officers the proper tools to home safely. The vests are expected to be put into use next month.
