SUMMARY: A stationary front in the region has resulted in a change in the air, bringing about drier and milder conditions for the early week. Daytime temperatures will be mild in the low-70s and largely clear skies are expected, with a small chance of isolated showers. The heat and humidity will increase again towards midweek, with the front moving back north and higher pressure expected from the east. This will also result in a return of daily isolated thunderstorm chances.

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
