Museum of Natural Science offering special exhibit for ‘World Snake Day’

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science will be celebrating World Snake Day by hosting an open display of snakes at the facility. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors will have the chance to learn more about snakes and see them up close. Trained personnel will be present throughout the building to ensure the safety of both the snakes and the visitors. State herpetologist Emily Fields will also be giving lectures on how to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes. Additionally, boy scout troops will have the opportunity to earn reptilian and amphibian badges during the event.

The Mississippi State Department of Health highlighted the continuous readiness of EMS teams to provide lifesaving care, which significantly improves survival and recovery rates. In Mississippi, the public is invited to honor EMS personnel at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson on May 21 with a special event featuring various exhibits and demonstrations.
