Reservoir police gear up for Independence Day
SUMMARY: Reservoir police in Rankin County, Mississippi are urging people to celebrate safely at the Barnett Reservoir on July 4th. One group of friends recently saved a man from drowning at the Reservoir. Reservoir Police Chief Trevell Dixon advises visitors to have a life jacket for everyone on the vessel and to know their swimming abilities. Glass is allowed at the Reservoir, but alcohol is not permitted in the parks. DUI arrests were made over the weekend, so there will be increased patrols through July 4th to ensure safety.
