SUMMARY: Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson is urging parents to be vigilant about their children's online activity, particularly on social media. He highlighted the dangers of online predators and the consequences of sharing inappropriate content among friends. The presentation included examples of TikTok challenges that have led to the deaths of young people and an undercover operation that resulted in the arrests of 37 men for trying to meet minors they met online. Parents and children were encouraged to report any suspicious online encounters to local authorities. The sheriff has given the “Digital Dangers” seminar to various community groups.
