Local farmers are struggling to turn crops into profits
SUMMARY: Local farmers in West Point, Mississippi are struggling to turn a profit due to rising costs of materials, equipment, and labor. Chad Mccomic of CM Farms lost 90% of his strawberry crop this year and is struggling to prepare for next year's crop. The challenges are not unique to Mccomic, as there was only one peach grower at a recent market in Atlanta, Georgia. Despite the difficulties, CM Farms is adding attractions such as a pumpkin cannon and ziplines to attract more business and people to the farm.
