Bulldogs to co-host tournament in Biloxi

SUMMARY: Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss will co-host the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational golf tournament from October 15-17 at the Fallen Oak Golf Course in Biloxi. The event will feature twelve top-tier collegiate teams, including LSU, Auburn, UNLV, Wisconsin, Kansas, UCF, Colorado, Iowa, and SMU. A collegiate amateur round will also take place on October 14. Fallen Oak is considered among the top 100 golf courses in the United States by Golf Digest.

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
