Former Mississippi school financial secretary pleads guilty to embezzlement
SUMMARY: Dana Walker, the former financial secretary at H.W. Byers High School in Jackson, Miss., pled guilty to embezzling $39,471.70 in school activity funds between August 2020 and February 2022. She was initially arrested in February 2022 by Marshall County School District Police, and the case was later investigated by the State Auditor's Office. 15-year-old dies after being pulled from Clinton YMCA pool
SUMMARY: A 15-year-old boy, Jonas Pippins, died after being pulled from the pool at the Clinton Branch YMCA in Clinton, Mississippi, on Sunday, May 19.
