Mississippi Stories: W. Ralph Eubanks

In this episode of , Mississippi Editor-at-Large Marshall Ramsey sits down with award-winning author W. Ralph Eubanks to about his book, A Place Like Mississippi. A Place Like Mississippi takes on a complete tour of the real and imagined landscapes that have inspired generations of authors.

Eubanks is also the author of two other books: Ever Is a Long Time: A Journey Into Mississippi's Dark Past (Basic Books) and The House at the End of the Road: The Story of Three Generations of an Interracial in the American South (HarperCollins) and recently received the Nonfiction award for A Place Like Mississippi: A Journey Through a Real and Imagined Literary Landscape by the The Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters.

Official resigns after guilty plea to drug conspiracy in Mississippi and North Carolina vape shops

SUMMARY: Council member Robert Leon Deming, III resigns after pleading guilty to a federal conspiracy charge for running a business that sold illegal in Mississippi and North Carolina. The business, the Candy , sold over $2 million worth of CBD and vape products containing controlled substances. Deming agreed to forfeit over $1.9 million and a yellow monster truck as part of his plea agreement. He is set to be in August. In addition to serving on the City Council, Deming ran for a U.S. House seat in 2020, losing in the Republican primary.
