SUMMARY: The weather forecast predicts clear skies and increasing humidity. Friday will be hot, with the heat index reaching up to mid-100s in some areas. The oppressive humidity will return this weekend, along with the possibility of heat alerts and isolated thunderstorms. A tropical wave may develop into a tropical system across the Gulf of Mexico next week. SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
