While the eruption’s duration is uncertain, sensors help predict lava emergence. Locals and visitors witness the spectacle, with many watching livestreams. For Native Hawaiians, the eruption honors Pele, the volcano goddess, inspiring cultural stories and chants. Visitors are urged to stay safe on trails due to hazards like unstable cliffs and volcanic gases.
