SUMMARY: There’s no better way to show off what the coast has to offer than having visitors sample the product. At Centennial Plaza, the samples have been going like hotcakes, especially the Gulf fresh seafood. The sampling tent is funded through a Restore Act grant, and the Mississippi Dept. of Marine Resources is the caretaker of that grant. They’re doing the cooking this week and have been boiling 400 pounds of shrimp each day. The samples have been well-received, and the industry is using this opportunity to reach out to all the cruisers who are coming down from all over the country.

Those who sampled the shrimp also received a QR Code that directs them to restaurants and vendors that serve and sell Gulf seafood.
