Who is held at Henley-Young?
SUMMARY: The recent escape of three teenagers from the Henley Young Patent Juvenile Justice Center has raised questions about the facility’s operations and rehabilitation process. The facility currently holds around 47 juveniles, including two females, with six charged in the juvenile court and the rest charged as adults. The reason they are held at Henley Young instead of Raymond Detention Center or prison is because they are too young. The facility is not just a holding center, as many detainees have already been processed and given sentences. The facility aims to keep its capacity at around 35, but can hold over 50 if necessary. The facility is also days away from announcing a new director who may make changes as needed.

Storms possible for parts of Father’s Day
SUMMARY: Parts of the region could see storms on Father’s Day, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices in the upper 90s. Afternoon storms may bring gusty winds and hail, though severe weather is not expected. Monday follows a similar pattern with scattered afternoon storms. A high-pressure system will move in by Thursday, bringing well-above-average temperatures. Heat indices may reach 107–110 degrees by Friday, especially west of I-55 in Mississippi. The week ahead will remain hot and humid, with increasingly oppressive heat expected through the weekend. Stay weather-aware and hydrated amid the steamy conditions.
