Two new intersections opening on U.S. 49 near Forrest General Hospital

SUMMARY: Starting next Tuesday, July 16th, new traffic signals at Camp Street and Adeline Street on Highway 49 in Hattiesburg will be operational. The current signal at the M Street intersection will be removed, affecting access to Forest General Hospital. The emergency room will be accessed via the Camp Street intersection, and the front parking lot via the Adeline light if heading north, while southbound traffic can still turn at M Street. This Thursday, the new lights on Highway 49 will begin flashing yellow, indicating no need to stop, with cross traffic following two-way stop rules.
