Winter, Mississippi’s 58th governor and a proponent of racial reconciliation, played a pivotal role in the creation of these museums, which opened in 2017. His dedication to Mississippi’s history and future generations is celebrated annually, thanks to sponsorship by Jones Walker LLP, where Winter worked for over five decades. The William and Elise Winter Education Endowment continues their legacy by supporting students’ educational visits to the museums.
