SUMMARY: In a recent discussion, vice president Kamala Harris faced criticism from some Republicans who labeled her as a “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) hire,” questioning her qualifications. The speaker attempted to explore the concept of DEI, asking for a definition and expressing uncertainty about Harris’s racial identity. They mentioned Harris’s Indian heritage and suggested she changed her identity to emphasize her Black heritage. Despite acknowledging that Harris is a competent individual, the speaker hesitated to confirm whether they believed her appointment was solely due to her race, reflecting a broader debate on identity and qualifications in politics.

In a heated moment between former President Donald Trump and correspondent Rachel Scott, Trump said Harris may be a DEI hire and claimed that she only recently started identifying as a Black woman. More: bit.ly/4fjHAoK
