Tropical Update 9/2/24
SUMMARY: Chief Meteorologist Patrick Big provided a tropical weather update, noting minimal activity currently. Two systems are being monitored: one wave near Africa and another moving through the Caribbean. The Caribbean wave, while struggling, has a 40% chance of developing within 5 to 7 days as it approaches the Yucatán Peninsula, potentially bringing wet weather. The African wave also has a 40% chance of development and appears healthier. A stationary front off the coast may inhibit any northward movement of either wave. The next storm names are Fran, scen, and Gordon. Weather patterns will continue to be observed closely.
