Tropical Storm Ernesto expected to become a hurricane by tomorrow | Tracking the Tropics
SUMMARY: Tropical Storm Ernesto is expected to impact the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico on Tuesday, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. The storm is located about 250 miles east-southeast of San Juan and is forecasted to transition into a hurricane by Wednesday as it moves across the U.S. and British Virgin Islands before heading north into the Atlantic. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, and a Tropical Storm Warning covers several regions, including Puerto Rico. Heavy rainfall of 4 to 10 inches is anticipated, raising concerns of floods and landslides.
