SUMMARY: Children with disabilities in Ridgeland were given the opportunity to participate in the 2023 Top Soccer Jamboree, which was organized by the Parks and Recreation department in partnership with Top Soccer. The event took place at Freedom Ridge Park and had over 450 participants ranging from ages 5 to 18. Kenny White, the Technical Director at the Mississippi Rush Soccer Club, has been running this event for 20 years and has witnessed its positive impact on the community. The event has grown significantly over the years, with 420 plus participants and over 500 volunteers. The volunteers, including college athletes, expressed their joy in being role models for these children and having the chance to interact with them. Additionally, the organizers also hold soccer leagues in the fall for older children.
