This year's Egg Bowl will be on Black Friday

SUMMARY: The Egg Bowl this year will be played on Black Friday instead of Thanksgiving, marking the first time since 2008 that the game is not on a Saturday. The game, featuring rivals Mississippi State and Ole Miss, will air at 2:30 PM on 16 WAPT. Ole Miss has won three of the last four matchups. Other football games and times announced include Mississippi State’s season opener at 5:00 PM against Eastern Kentucky, with subsequent games against Arizona State and Toledo. Ole Miss will play Furman and Middle Tennessee, while Southern Miss faces Kentucky and others. Jackson State’s opener is rescheduled to Thursday, August 29th against Louisiana-Monroe.

The Egg Bowl Thanksgiving tradition will take a break this year. Mississippi State and Ole Miss will play each other on Black Friday with a 2:30 pm start on 16 WAPT.
