The U.S. Coast Guard says debris field has been found near the Titanic during search for submersible
SUMMARY: Search and rescue teams are racing against time to find a submersible that went missing on Saturday while taking passengers to the wreck of the Titanic. The Titan, a luxury tourist vehicle, was exploring the shipwreck when its monitoring relay stopped sending signals to the surface on 26 February. Coast Guard officials are cautiously hopeful that the vehicle may still be on the seafloor with surviving passengers onboard. The U.S. Navy has sent a specialised salvage system capable of hoisting the 20,000-pound vehicle to aid in the search effort.
