SUMMARY: The Pearl River baseball team completed a historic 2025 season with 53 wins, back-to-back MACCC titles, the Region 23 Championship, and a National Championship runner-up finish. Sixteen players from this standout team are advancing to four-year college programs, including Auburn, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Nicholls State, and Mississippi State. Head Coach Michael Avalon emphasized their mission to develop players both athletically and personally, preparing them for success beyond baseball. Four local coaches named MAC Coach of the Year! Congratulations to Poplarville’s Jay Beech, Gulfport’s Logan Fallo, Bay High’s Chris Doxey, and Our Lady Academy’s Emily Corley!
SUMMARY: Four coaches from Mississippi’s southern six counties have been named 2025 Coaches of the Year by the Mississippi Association of Coaches. Poplarville’s Jay Beech earned Football Coach of the Year after leading the Hornets to their first-ever state championship with a 13–2 record. Gulfport’s Logan Fallo was honored as Boys Powerlifting Coach of the Year, guiding the Admirals to their fourth consecutive state title and assisting the Lady Admirals in securing their first. Bay High’s Chris Doxey received Boys Soccer Coach of the Year for leading the Tigers to a third straight state championship with a 15–3 record. Our Lady Academy’s Emily Corley was named Volleyball Coach of the Year after the Lady Crescents clinched their third consecutive state title with a 41–4 record. The awards ceremony will take place on July 10 inFlowood .

Rescue Rodeo at Plant Watson puts safety and teamwork front and center
