The Pontotoc Veterans of Foreign Wars is giving back to local schools
SUMMARY: The Pon Talk Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post, led by Commander Denny Douglas, is supporting its community through donations. Recently, VFW Post 53.95 has contributed funds to various local sports teams. Beneficiaries include the Ponno City Tennis program as well as the South Pontalk and North Pontalk cross country teams, helping to boost their activities and foster youth engagement in sports within the Pon Talk area.

Houston Career and Technology Education Center receives $50,000 check
SUMMARY: The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has awarded a $50,000 grant to the Houston Career and Technology Education Center for renovations to its engineering lab. The funds will be used to upgrade air conditioning units and the roof, enhancing student comfort and learning conditions. This improvement will prevent the need for students to relocate during hot summer months. The renovations are set to be completed by August 2025. TVA, along with its partner, Natches Trace Electric Power Association, is dedicated to supporting local educational initiatives.
