THE CARTER FOUNDATION'S MISSION
SUMMARY: The Carter Foundation was established in 2014 to inspire young people to reach their full potential. Founder James Carter saw a need for a youth program that would educate, motivate, and elevate the lives of kids in the community. Over the past 10 years, the foundation has impacted hundreds of children in Mississippi. Carter believes that it is not just his efforts but the collective work of everyone involved that has allowed the program to prosper. Former attendees have returned as teachers, creating a full circle moment for the organization. The foundation looks forward to celebrating their 10-year anniversary with the community in the near future.

Baldwyn city leaders to vote on Sunday alcohol sales
SUMMARY: Business owners in Baldwin may soon be able to sell alcohol on Sundays, as the mayor has suggested. Aldermen will discuss approving Sunday alcohol sales, citing potential benefits such as increased tax revenue for infrastructure projects and attracting other businesses. However, some residents are concerned about the impact on observing the Lord's day. The decision will consider the views of the community, especially churches. If approved, Aldermen will need to set a specific time frame for alcohol sales. The group will convene next month to further discuss this proposal. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure the happiness and contentment of residents in the city.
Mayor Roslynn Clark said aldermen will meet to discuss approving alcohol sales on Sundays.
