SUMMARY: Jod Hall, a Texas adoption attorney, has been accused of illegally paying Tarrant County jail inmates for their unborn babies. Investigators found that Hall, 68, communicated with pregnant inmates through county-issued tablets, making financial transactions and allegedly using threats for compliance. She faces two charges related to the sale or purchase of a child. The investigation revealed Hall’s questionable activities at the jail, including attempting to secure custody of inmates’ unborn children for her agency, Adoptions International Incorporated, which had its accreditation suspended and canceled in 2019. Hall was arrested on July 23 and has since been released on a $50,000 bond.

SUMMARY: A woman is suing American Airlines after being sexually assaulted by a man on a flight from San Francisco to Dallas in April last year. The suspect, Sheranne Abraham, had previous allegations of assault on American Airlines flights, but was still allowed to fly. Abraham was arrested by the FBI last month after allegedly groping a woman on another flight. The FBI confirmed Abraham had touched other passengers inappropriately before. The lawsuit accuses American Airlines of ignoring prior complaints and failing to take sexual assault reports seriously. The airline defers to law enforcement but claims safety is its top priority.
