Teen charged with killing 4 at Georgia high school was focus of earlier threat tips
SUMMARY: A 14-year-old boy opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, killing four people and injuring nine during a shooting incident. The victims included two students and two teachers. The shooter had previously been interviewed by police after online threats were reported more than a year prior, but there was insufficient evidence for an arrest. The teen, armed with an assault-style rifle, fired in a hallway after peers refused to let him back into a classroom. He surrendered to school resource officers shortly after. The tragedy has reignited discussions about gun control amid ongoing school shootings in the U.S.
