Teen charged with capital murder in Jackson shooting

SUMMARY: A 17-year-old named Cory Mitchell has been charged with capital murder in connection to a shooting in Jackson. The incident occurred on March 1 at Jayne Avenue and Lindsey Drive, resulting in the victim, 17-year-old Arthur Brown, Jr., being transported to the hospital in critical condition. Mitchell was initially charged with aggravated assault but now faces a more serious charge. The victim later died on March 4 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Magee police have also made an arrest in connection to the shooting death of a brother at a hotel.
