Carly Gregg convicted of all charges
SUMMARY: After nearly two hours of deliberation, the jury found Carly Madison Gregg guilty on all charges, including the murder of her mother, Ashley Smiley, attempted murder of her stepfather, Heath Smiley, and tampering with evidence. Gregg was sentenced to two life sentences without parole and ten years for tampering with evidence. Defense attorney Kevin Camp acknowledged the case’s difficulty and stated they rejected a 40-year plea deal offered by the state. State Attorney Katherine Newman said life imprisonment was the only suitable sentence. Judge Arthur ruled that all sentences will be served concurrently. An appeal is planned within 40 days.
Carly Gregg, 15, was convicted of killing her mother and shooting her father. She was sentenced to life in prison.
