SUMMARY: Sumrall High School’s art class received help from elementary school students in creating 3D ceramic monsters. The art teacher, Lissa Ortego, started the program four years ago, making it the only ceramics class in the Lamar County School District. The high schoolers were touched by the experience and found it rewarding to create something based on the designs of others. This program helped the students develop their creativity and imagination while learning about ceramics. Overall, it was a humbling and inspiring experience for the young artists in Sumrall.
